Not new, automatic couplers exist quite a few years now. As you cen see the old locomotives have them already. They are often used on yard and road switchers and replace the clessic hook and chain couplings to save time.

It looks a bit sci-fi with the angles on the body and the lights...does 10BB mean 1000 horsepower?
